Originally from Derry, Northern Ireland, Gráinne Rita McAnaney graduated from Trinity College Dublin School of Law with First Class Honors in 2010. Having spent a year at Washington and Lee School of Law as a visiting student, Gráinne moved to the United States permanently in 2010 and attended the University of Virginia School of Law, where she graduated with a Masters of Law in 2011.

After being admitted to the Virginia State Bar, Gráinne initially worked for the Office of the Federal Public Defender where her work involved obtaining sentence reductions for clients incarcerated on crack cocaine charges. In 2012, Gráinne joined the Office of the Public Defender in Warrenton, Virginia. As a Public Defender for more than three years, Gráinne represented approximately 1,500 clients in cases pertaining to various areas of the law.

Gráinne joined The Irving Law Firm in 2015 as an Associate, and currently provides assistance to clients throughout Northern Virginia. Gráinne is currently serving as President of the Fauquier County Bar Association.

Gráinne provides the highest level of legal service to all clients, while understanding that each client’s case requires its own unique analysis and approach.
